IMPACT PROJECTS

Land Rights Reform in Llano de Rio Verde, Colombia

For the 27 indigenous communities that belong to the municipality of Frontino,  local economic wages depend on the sale of artisan products that the women manage to market from neighboring farms. However, basic needs continue to be disadvantaged by the shifts in the economy from unfair trade deals. The greatest beneficiaries are the corporations that have seen their capacity to operate multi-nationally greatly enhanced; transforming food and economic systems, displacing people from their lands and argiculture-based ways of life.

These conditions affect the health conditions of locals, their dwellings, marine life ecology and the largest under water river system on earth.

CAPACITY BUILDING IN FRONTINO

The greatest revolution that humanity has lived has been the revolution of women . . . Yet, peaceful revolution has not yet concluded in Colombia, the Wango Wango project teaches women to own their work and get a hold of their economic independence.                 We believe education will change social constructs.
